The Sangha

The Sangha

The Sri. Jagajyothi Basaveshwara Sahakara Sangha (N) founded in 1959 is the only co-operative society in Bangalore, which is dedicated to the cause of education. Started with the lofty ideal of providing quality education at an affordable cost, so that even the poorer sections of society may benefit from it, the sangha has succeeded in doing the same. Currently, it runs Sixteen educational institutions in different parts of the city and is engaged in the task of educating nearly five thousand children. All the institutions functioning under the sangha banner have adopted the motto ‘Work is Worship’. They believe in ennobling the individual by inculcating the right values, building on the spiritual strengths and aiding intellectual growth.

The College:

The Basaveshwara College of Commerce, Arts and Science, which was established in the year 1982, reflects the ideals of the Sangha. Committed to the ideals of Lord Basaveshwara, it aims at providing value based education to all, particularly, the less fortunate children of the neighboring villages and semi-urban areas. The committed staff, a supportive management and enthusiastic students have all contributed to help the institution to grow in strength and quality. The goal of the institution is to contribute its mite to society at large by creating citizens who are a healthy blend of traditional values and professional skills, individuals who reflect our commitment to build a healthy society and help in carrying the torch of knowledge and service forward. The college shall strive tirelessly in its noble endeavour of imparting knowledge, nurturing talent and moulding young individuals in their quest towards excellence.
